The Pacific Fleet held massive joint maritime drills with South Korea off the Korean peninsula’s east coast.

This comes after President Trump took a tough stance of North Korea’s nuclear threat during his historic tour of Asia, saying his administration pursues — quote — “peace through strength.”

The exercise involves three U.S. aircraft carrier groups, making it the largest show of force in a decade.

The U.S.S. Nimitz, the U.S.S. Theodore Roosevelt, and the U.S.S. Ronald Reagan all took part in the exercise, along with their accompanying vessels.

Military officials say North Korea maintained its routine military activities during the joint drills.

However, Pyongyangs state news agency accused the U.S. and South Korea of attempting to escalate tensions in the region.
