Delaware police are mourning the death of one of their own tonight, as the suspected shooter is being contacted by police negotiators whilst barricaded within a private residence.

The incident occurred earlier this afternoon at a WaWa gas station in Bear, Delaware after the officer approached a suspicious vehicle.  Two individuals were inside of the vehicle when the officer approached.  A struggle ensued, and the yet-to-be-named officer was shot several times.

“A Delaware State Police trooper has died after being shot at a Wawa store in Bear, while the shooter has barricaded himself inside his home in Middletown.

“The barricade situation is happening at a home on the 500 block of St. Michaels Drive in the Brick Mill Farms Development.

“Police say the male suspect is refusing orders to surrender and has fired shots at officers.

“It is believed that he is inside the home by himself. Hostage negotiators were trying to establish contact with the man.

“His name has not been released.

“A heavy police presence could be seen from the Action Cam and Chopper 6.”

Several schools in the area were on lockdown due to the incident, and the residential area adjacent to the barricade situation has been evacuated.

This is just the latest in brazen anti-police behavior by America’s criminal underground.  With hate groups such as Black Lives Matter consistently pushing the envelope in terms of what is acceptable behavior toward authority figures, these incidents have been on an unfortunate increase.
