For the past few weeks, we here at Constitution.com have been extrapolating the new liberal hate speech into a nicely condensed and expressive term:  New Fascism.

The idea is quite simple:  In the wake of Donald Trump’s victory in the 2016 presidential election, the nation’s leftists have begun a campaign of segregation and discrimination against those who have differing political opinions.  Much like Stalin’s Fascism, which was based on a nationalistic tendency, the New Fascism of the liberals is being directed to those whose political allegiances differ from their own.

And don’t let the internet definition of “fascism” fool you.  The addition of the “right wing” qualifier in the definition you’ll receive from Google is quickly becoming outdated, due in no small part to the actions of these liberals.

The left has had other help in attempting to avoid our New Fascism label as well, as their militant operatives are often referred to as “antifa” forces by the mainstream media – an amalgam of the words “anti” and “fascist”.  Make no mistake, however, these newly violent liberals are certainly New Fascists.

Hannity is taking our idea even further, however, with the conservative pundit now threatening possible lawsuits against the movement.

“Fox News’ Sean Hannity was more defiant than ever in the opening monologue of his show Wednesday, when he announced that his team of lawyers are looking into suing ‘liberal fascist’ news outlets that smeared him this week. At issue are accusations made Friday by a blogger that he acted inappropriately toward her more than a decade ago.

“’In all seriousness, we are at a turning point,’ Hannity began, ‘a huge turning point when it comes to freedom of speech in the United States of America. I, for one, I refuse to sit back and let conservatives be silenced by these liberal fascists, it’s time to take a stand.’

“’And as I have explained, I also have become a target of these slanderous attacks,’ he continued. ‘And in my opinion, what happened last Friday, this was designed to be a “kill shot.” In other words, to ruin my career, shut me down once and for all. Literally I think they had the crosshairs at my head, and my heart, they wanted to destroy me, ruin my career, get me off the air, once and for all.’

“’Now on Friday, just two days after Bill O’Reilly parted ways with the Fox News channel,’ Hannity added, ‘an individual with serious and glaring credibility issues fabricated completely untrue, ridiculous claims, about me, I think going back to 2003, ’04 and ’05, which this person quickly recanted.’”

While we appreciate that imitation is the finest form of flattery, Hannity’s insistence on appropriating New Fascism into his own personal career issue is a bit concerning.

The true nature of what is occurring on the suddenly violent left is much more important than the career of one talking head, or the accusations against them.  True New Fascism threatens to unravel our First Amendment whole, with instances such as the horrific riots at UC Berkeley reiterating the “antifa” clowns’ desire to censor conservative views in America through the threat of force.
