Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro asks for a personal conversation with President Trump.

This comes after the U.S. imposed sanctions on the country and Maduro himself for implementing the controversial constituent assembly.

During a three hour speech Maduro accused President Trump of being an emperor, and for trying to hold Venezuela to the same laws as the U.S.

He similarly critiqued Colombia and Mexico for imposing sanctions, and for threatening democracy.

The Trump administration has referred to the Venezuelan president as a dictator, and stand firmly on their decision.
