A car slams into a group of people at a white nationalist rally in Virginia, killing at least one person and injuring 19 others.

That’s according to officials at the nearby University of Virginia hospital.

Police say the driver of the car is now in custody.

One witness described the moments immediately after the vehicle attack.

“Big silver mustang, came through probably 35 miles per hour, something like that. It was flinging people out of the way. There was just like a ton of bodies all on the ground all over the side and I just tried to pull somebody out of the road because I didn’t know if they were going to come back.”

Governor Terry McAuliffe declared a state of emergency in response to the rally.

President Trump sounded off about the incident… saying everyone must be united and condemn all that hate stands for.

He added there is no place for this kind of violence in America.

The so called “Unite the Right” event was held in Charlottesville’s Emancipation Park Saturday with several opposing political groups reportedly in attendance.
