The State Department is under fire for its decision to allow then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to shield records from being made public by simply labeling them as “private.”

On Thursday, a Freedom of Information Act request filed by Judicial Watch revealed the documents bringing forth the so-called private records.

The memos show the Obama State Department made a deal with Clinton, allowing her and her top aide Huma Abedin to hide call logs and personal schedules.

The deal allowed Abedin to remove five boxes of physical files labeled “Muslim engagement.”

Clinton was permitted to remove a log of gifts given to her, which could potentially shed light on Clinton campaign connections.
