Vice President Mike Pence says he is happy the government shutdown is coming to an end so Congress can get back to work on pushing President Trump’s agenda.
He made the comments while speaking alongside Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem Monday.
Pence said Israel is the most cherished U.S. ally, and with President Trump in the White House and Netanyahu leading Israel the best for both countries is yet to come.
He said the two countries stand together for prosperity and security, along with the fight against radical Islamic terrorism.
“The American people cherish our relationship with Israel and your comments today, your comments here this evening, your gracious words toward our president and myself, are deeply meaningful,” stated Vice President Pence.
Earlier in the day, Pence confirmed the U.S. Embassy in Israel will move to Jerusalem within the year.
