The White House is considering a 24% tariff on all steel imports–the most severe recommendation put forth by the commerce department.

Reports Friday say the Trump administration wants to increase steel and aluminum tariffs on all countries doing trade with the U.S.

Sources say the aluminum tariff could exceed 10% more than the recommendation proposed by the commerce department.

The department released a report last month showing adverse imports from China and other countries could amount to a national security threat.

Meanwhile, the president has made reciprocal trade a priority in his economic agenda.
