A top candidate to replace outgoing UN Ambassador Nikki Haley is no longer under consideration for the position.

Goldman Sachs partner Dina Powell will no longer be in the running to become the next U.S. ambassador to the UN, as she is leaning on remaining with the financial firm, according to reports Thursday.

Sources close to the matter say although there was a strong mutual interest in the White House aide filling the role, Powell believes political opponents in the Senate will paint her as a pawn for big business.
