President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump have finally filed their income taxes after initially asking the Internal Revenue Service for an extension.

On Wednesday, CBS news reported the pair submitted their 2017 federal income tax returns after a six month extension.

Press Secretary Sarah Sanders said they submitted their taxes on time and are automatically under audit, which is something President Trump thinks is “very unfair.”

All presidents are audited and every president after Richard Nixon has released their tax returns, but President Trump has kept his financial matters private.

It is unknown if he will release his tax return to the public this year.
