The pressure is for a pair of red state Democrats who are up for reelection. Two vulnerable senators were scheduled to meet with the president’s Supreme Court nominee on Capitol Hill this week.

Indiana Senator Joe Donnelly and North Dakota Senator Heidi Heitkamp will both sit down with Brett Kavanaugh Wednesday.

They will be the second and third Democrat lawmakers to sit down with the Supreme Court pick after West Virginia Senator Joe Manchin met with Kavanaugh last month.

So far, zero Democrats have come out in support of the president’s choice.

Republican challengers to several red state Democrats have used the issue as a campaign strategy, calling on Democrat incumbents to support the pick.

Back in 2016, President Trump won both Indiana and North Dakota by double digits.
