Russia claims U.S. actions in Syria are a result of provocation or lack of understanding during joint talks with Yemeni officials.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said the unilateral actions taken by the U.S. suggest it is either a misunderstanding or a deliberate provocation.

Lavrov claims Turkey is angry due to U.S. cooperation with the People’s Protection Units, which is deemed a terrorist group by the country.

On Sunday, the U.S. encouraged Turkey to limit military operations within the Syria and exercise restraint.

“For quite some time now, our western partners have been trying to fan a sort of scandal over the situation in eastern Ghouta and Idlib…they are ignoring the fact that the concentration of militants close to Jabhat al-Nusra remains high there and that these militants launch attacks on Damascus, including the Russian embassy,” stated Lavrov.

The Turkish president warned the U.S. not to provoke the nation or become further involved in the conflict.
