❖ Many American families have embraced homeschooling in the last few decades. There are approximately 2.8 million families involved in homeschooling. In 2000, Eric and Joyce Burges from the Baton Rouge area founded an organization to help more African-Americans get involved in home schooling. This resource network is called the National Black Home Educators. Joyce Burges joins Jerry Newcombe to discuss homeschooling and what it can offer to all Americans. www.nbhe.net
❖ About a hundred years ago, a tribe of headhunters in India were reached for Christ because of a single copy of the Gospel of John in their language. This transformed the whole community miraculously. Years later, Rochanga Pudaite from that tribe and his wife Mawii founded a ministry in America (first in Wheaton, Illinois, now in Colorado Springs) called Bibles for the World—in order to spread the Word of God as wide as possible. Today, Bibles for the World is led by Rochanga’s son, John Pudaite. He has been described as being “passionate about appropriating new technologies and sustainable development to help advance the cause of Christ” John Pudait joins Jerry Newcombe on Vocal Point to discuss the impact of the Bible and the challenge to spread its message even more. www.biblesfortheworld.org
❖ Nicolas Kimaz grew up in Lebanon. When he was 15, Muslims began a civil war, pitting themselves against the Christians. Nicolas found himself fighting with guns in the dangerous streets of Lebanon until he was able to escape to the United States. He worked as a television and film producer. He eventually became a born again Christian. Later he got involved in the health field. Overall, he considers himself a beneficiary of the American Dream, and now he’s running for Congress to help give back. Nicolas Kimaz joins Jerry Newcombe on Vocal Point to discuss his Christian testimony. @nicolaskimazFL
