President Trump has been weathering attacks from all manner of would be character assassins as of late, with foes flanking the popular president from every conceivable angle.

We have the ongoing Russia probe coming from the left, RINO republican obstructionists on the right, and a bevy of former colleagues who are hellbent on delegitimizing The Donald at every turn.  Worse yet, we know that this sort of “manufactured bombshell” trickery has been going on for some time as well, with both Michael Cohen and Omarosa Manigault-Newman admitting to having secretly recorded conversations that they had with Donald Trump.  The only possible presumption here is that these recordings were done in order to possibly catch the President saying something controversial, so that these slithering serpents could turn around and sell that to the press.

It’s frankly despicable.

In the case of Newman, it’s even more disturbing than that, given that the former White House staffer is revealing these illicit recordings through her own cash-grab of  book.

The White House was none too pleased with the content of said book, either, and they let the world know today.

The White House responded on Friday to claims from Omarosa Manigault-Newman in her new book, asserting it is filled with lies.

“[T]his book is riddled with lies and false accusations,” White House press secretary Sarah Sanders said in a statement to reporters, adding:

It’s sad that a disgruntled former White House employee is trying to profit off these false attacks and, even worse, that the media would now give her a platform, after not taking her seriously when she had only positive things to say about the president during her time in the administration.

Newman claims in her book that her former boss, President Donald Trump, is a racist who has repeatedly used the N-word. The Guardian published details of her book, which will be published next week.

This is not the first tawdry tale to come out of the Trump White House.

Last year, Michael Wolff’s tome Fire and Fury lit up the blogosphere with accusations of misconduct and bizarre behavior by the President that was certain to bring the entire administration down with him.

Spoiler alert:  That didn’t happen.
