The president of Colombia is speaking out on the crisis in Venezuela. At the the 2019 Concordia Americas Summit Monday, Colombian President Ivan Duque called on surrounding Latin American countries to take action against Venezuela’s Nicolas Maduro. He said, “now is not the time to be passive.”
Duque then went on to say he would support American intervention in hopes of delivering humanitarian aide to the people in the country.

“When one sees a humanitarian tragedy, one can’t be in a passive place and that is why the invitation that all Latin Americans should make is not to ask ourselves when the dictatorship is going to fall, but what we are going to do so that the dictatorship in Venezuela falls and institutional order is restored,” stated President Duque.
The Colombian leader has claimed if nothing is done, Maduro will stay in power and continue to allow the “murder of young children.”
