According to Hollywood gossip site TMZ, some of the survivors of the February school shooting in Florida are in talks with movie producers for a possible documentary or TV series about the high school massacre.

“Sources tell us at least a couple student survivors have been getting calls to participate in some sort of docu-type project that would depict the tragedy and its aftermath,” TMZ reports. “We’re told these students are fielding requests from a number of producers and executives for potential deals on a full-blown movie documentary, a TV documentary and a TV docuseries. They’re sorting through these talks with some high-powered publicists.

Also in the works are “possible book deals,” TMZ adds. Though there have been meetings with publishers “nothing’s been inked just yet.”

There have been some standout students from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland that have been catapulted to notoriety thanks to a national media that is eager to have the faces of grieving youth be their mouthpiece for gun control. And now, of course, Hollywood comes a-knockin’.

It is stated that any money exchanged in these deals would be going to fund the March for Our Lives in Washington D.C. later this month or other gun control groups.
