At least 90 suspected Sicilian mafia members are under arrest on suspicion of drug trafficking, money laundering, bribery and violence.

On Wednesday, several arrests took place among the notorious mafia group ‘Ndrangheta. More than three tons of cocaine and about 300 pounds of ecstasy were seized.

According to reports, Italian restaurants and ice cream parlors were used to launder money as well as several businesses and homes across four countries.

‘Ndrangheta is one of five major world crime organizations operating out of Italy. It has approximately 6,000 members, and is believed to control 80-percent of Europe’s cocaine trade.
