Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is expressing confidence President Trump will be successful in getting North Korea to denuclearize.

While speaking at Texas A&M University Monday, Pompeo said the U.S. has made the most progress in getting Kim Jong-un to make a strategic shift toward denuclearization. He added, North Korea is facing tough sanctions and he would like to see them lifted.

“I would love nothing more than to lift the sanctions on North Korea — I truly would, because it would mean we were successful,” stated the U.S. secretary of state. “It would mean North Korea no longer had a nuclear weapons program or weapons of mass destruction program.”
