The Washington Post has been busted reported fake news once again – but this time they are attacking our nation’s heroes.

An article published Wednesday with the headline, “A congressional bill could allow veterans deemed mentally incompetent to own guns,”  attempts to make the claim that the repeal of the veteran gun ban would allow vets with mental illness to easily obtain a firearm.

But this is very fake news!

The Horn News –

The Veteran’s Second Amendment Protection Act, which the House passed on March 16th, would repeal the ban and provide veterans with due process before they are labeled “mentally incompetent” and denied their Second Amendment right.

Under the current bill, veterans who are assigned someone to manage their finances due to injury, old age, etc., can be deemed mentally incompetent by Veterans Affairs, and subsequently denied gun permits by the FBI.

The Veteran’s Second Amendment Protection Act ensures that a judge’s order is required before labeling any veteran as “mentally incompetent.” It does not, in any way make it “easier for veterans who can be considered mentally incompetent to carry a firearm,” as reported by the Washington Post.

“Needing help managing your money does not make you a danger to society. The NRA is pleased with the House vote today and we look forward to the Senate taking action soon,” said Chris W. Cox, executive director of the NRA.

The sponsor of the bill, Rep. Phil Roe, shared his passion saying, “I strongly believe we must do everything in our power to protect the rights guaranteed to all Americans, especially the men and women who have served by the Constitution.”

And he couldn’t be more right.

Who is more deserving of our constitutional rights than the very individuals who put their lives on the line to protect them?

This is just another attempt by the biased mainstream media to attack our Second Amendment rights, but they won’t get away with it this time.

The bill has cleared the House vote and is heading to the Republican-majority Senate before landing on President Donald Trump’s desk for an expected approval.
