President Donald Trump has created a confounding conundrum for the democrats in Washington D.C., and their frustrations are becoming readily apparent.
Trump, a businessman with no true political experience to speak of, handily defeated democratic diva Hillary Clinton in the 2016 presidential election, ending the latter’s decades-long stint as one of America’s most corrupt politicos. (That’s not to say that Clinton isn’t still corrupt, she most certainly is. She just happens to be unemployed by the government).
This is not only an egregious affront to all that the democrats stand for, but it represents a very real threat to those who find themselves yearning for a place on Capitol Hill.
The American election of 2016 was a referendum on freedom in which the silent majority of U.S. conservatives rejected the status quo and D.C.’s business as usual. The nation stood together and put Washington D.C. on notice, telling the globe that they We The People were willing to take a chance with an unconventional president over everything that Hillary Clinton’s career represents.
A dynamic shift of this nature has a way of spooking the status quo, and that has made leftist recruitment into the “resistance” simpler than ever.
Cue an incident outside of Trump Tower today…
“Reps. Raul Grijalva and Luis Gutierrez were arrested outside Trump Tower Tuesday afternoon after sitting in the street outside the building in Manhattan.
“Reports from the scene indicated Grijalva, D-Ariz., and Gutierrez, D-Ill., were among multiple lawmakers who joined a crowd sitting in the street outside the building.
“Rep. Adriano Espaillat, D-N.Y., was among the other federal lawmakers who joined in the protest. Police also arrested New York City Council Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito.”
