Cory Booker, the laughing stock of the Senate as of late, has been quietly preparing himself for a run at the Presidency in 2016.
Those dreams may have just been dashed, however, after Booker past has come back to haunt him.
You see, the self-proclaimed “Spartacus” of the Senate has already failed in one attempt to derail the confirmation of Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court by pretending to break senate rules with the release of certain documents that were discovered to have been already approved for public disclosure.
Now, words penned by Booker himself have many observers wondering if his behavior is any better than what he and his fellow democrats are accusing Kavanaugh of.
Fox News reports that Booker, “who urged the Senate Judiciary Committee to first let the FBI conduct an investigation after California professor Christine Blasey Ford accused the high court nominee of sexual assault over 35 years ago, once wrote an article detailing an instance where he groped a female friend.”
Booker’s article, titled: “So much for stealing second,” appeared in The Stanford Daily on Wednesday, February 19, 1992:
New Year’s Eve 1984 I will never forget. I was 15. As the ball dropped, I leaned over to hug a friend and she met me instead with an overwhelming kiss.
As we fumbled upon the bed, I remember debating my next “move” as if it were a chess game. With the “Top Gun” slogan ringing in my head, I slowly reached for her breast. After having my hand pushed away once, I reached my “mark.”
Now, are these the advances of a hormonally impaired teen, or did Booker’s insistence constitute assault? Booker’s opinion on the matter likely isn’t trustworthy, since, after all, we’re not allowed to believe Brett Kavanaugh about his incident.
What about the 65 women who wrote a letter stating the Kavanaugh would never have committed such an act? Or how about the 2 witnesses named by Kavanaugh’s accuser who both claim to have no knowledge of the incident? Can we believe them, “Spartacus”?
