Apparently, even in America, being American is somehow uncool.

At least that’s the impression given to us by the mainstream media and their gaggle of angry leftist celebrities.  Men like LeBron James and women such as Kathy Griffin have been at the forefront of this sort of movement, criticizing not only the President, with whom they have every right to disagree, but also criticizing the nation as a whole for electing Donald Trump.  In many ways, it has become rather obvious that these radicalized liberals are not interested in the continuation of the American Dream as we know it, but, rather, they would prefer some new society to emerge from the ashes of the world’s leading exporter of liberty.

Now, one Atlanta-area school is taking this sort of “America isn’t all it’s cracked up to be” sentiment to the next level by eliminating the Pledge of Allegiance from their daily routine.

Atlanta Neighborhood Charter School on Grant Street announced the change Tuesday in a statement from elementary campus president Lara Zelski.

The decision was made “in an effort to begin our day as a fully inclusive and connected community,” Zelski said. “Over the past couple of years it has become increasingly obvious that more and more of our community were choosing to not stand and/or recite the pledge.”
So, what’s next for the students?  Apparently, a “new pledge” that will install in our youth a “global” mindset.

That pledge, she said, “will focus on students’ civic responsibility to their school family, community, country and our global society.”

Since when was being proud of your country out of the mainstream of society?  Since when do we have to accommodate anti-American sentiments in elementary school?

These children aren’t making this decision, that’s for sure.  This is behavior taught to them by adults, both in the media and in the home, and we must recognize that these youths do not have the cognitive ability to create their own complicated opinions on the matter at this age.  To force them into anti-America habits so early is undoubtedly going to sow dissonance for later in their lives.
