Boy is it ever a good thing, for Joe Biden, that children don’t vote.
That’s because of the bad news they got about their Christmases from a Washington Secrets column by Paul Bedard in the Washington Examiner.
He cited a CRC Research poll that 81% of parents with children under 18 are “cutting back” on their Christmas shopping in a time of extreme inflation under Joe Biden’s economic policies.
The numbers were crunched by CRC Research and showed that “well more than half the nation” is spending less on the holidays.
“In a survey for the 85 Fund provided to Secrets, the Virginia-based firm said 56% of people cut back spending on Thanksgiving and that even more, 69%, are slashing their Christmas spending,” Bedard reported.
“Holidays have taken a large hit this year, with over half of registered voters surveyed indicating they are cutting back on their Thanksgiving dinner plans due to increased grocery costs,” said the CRC’s Mia Phillips.
Bedard reported, “Surging inflation has already whacked people in the wallet, but the $6 butter for the Thanksgiving table and $85 price tag on the Magic Mixies Magical Misting Crystal Ball many children want for Christmas has sent consumers into shock.”
Phillips noted, “Nearly 7-in-10 registered voters are expecting to cut back on Christmas shopping this year, and 81% of parents with children under 18 are cutting back due to the increase in prices from last year.”
Bidenflation, as the economy has been defined under Joe Biden’s economic policies, has been above 8% for much of 2022. That means it’s costing the average family several thousand dollars more this year to pay for the same lifestyle they had last year.
Food prices have exploded, as have prices for gasoline for cars and home heating costs.
“These economic circumstances hurt young people and their families more, as 66% of those age 25-34 [are] saying they will be cutting back this year,” Phillips said.
