The latest revelation in President Joe Biden’s corruption scandal is yet another smoking gun that the corporate media will have to spin away.
But this one’s so bad that even MSNBC hosts will struggle to dig a hole deep enough to bury their heads.
“Hold 10 percent for the Big Guy,” is likely to go down as one of the most prolific quotes in American political history, despite being a misquote. The real quote — “10 held by H for the big guy?”— comes from an email apparently from James Gilliar, one of Hunter Biden’s business associates on the China side. Nevertheless, it is the spirit of the quote that defines the current moment.
Former President Richard Nixon’s “I am not a crook” line represented the disillusionment Americans felt upon realizing even presidents could falter — that politics, like the Vietnam War, and America itself, wasn’t all black and white. Former President Bill Clinton’s “I did not have sexual relations with that woman” reflected America’s split conscience, with one generation concerned with traditional morality and another — now dominant – generation failing to see the big deal. Biden’s implication in the “Big Guy” quote reflects the contemporary split in the American social fabric between those who see a two-tiered justice system at play and those who feign blindness as long as they are the ones calling the shots.
The Big Guy getting a 10 percent kickback is the perfect representation of America today. As Democrats, with the help of the media, legally target conservatives over supposed wrongdoing, they close ranks and insulate themselves from accountability on any of their own apparent misdeeds. Now, despite years-long media obfuscation, it appears that the infamous email is not just a cultural motif but could be cold, hard reality.
House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer released bank records Wednesday allegedly showing Biden took a $40,000 check from family members only a few days after they received a much larger sum from Chinese business associates.

We’ve followed the money and identified how Joe Biden received $40,000 in laundered 🇨🇳 China money.

James Lynch, the Daily Caller’s resident Hunter Biden connoisseur, breaks down the financial flows in minute detail. But the central issue is nearly as simple as the quote itself, according to Comer.
First, a Chinese company allegedly wired $5 million to a joint venture between Hunter and other Chinese associates, according to Comer. Next, that joint venture allegedly sent $400,000 to an entity “owned and controlled by Hunter Biden.” In other words, that’s Hunter’s alleged personal share. But wait — this is a family affair.
Hunter then allegedly wired $150,000 to a company owned by Biden’s brother James and his wife, Sara. She then allegedly withdrew a portion of that money and moved it to her personal account. Within a few days, Sara Biden allegedly “cut a check to Joe Biden for $40,000. The memo line of the check said, ‘loan repayment.’”
There it is, folks: out of Hunter’s alleged $400,000 stash, $40,000 allegedly went to Joe. That’s 10 for the man presumed to be the Big Guy.
It remains to be seen whether or not Biden actually made a $40,000 loan to his brother and sister-in-law, as well another $200,000 loan that was apparently “repaid” by the couple in 2018. Yet it beggars belief that this is all above board — that James and Sara Biden just happened to cut a 10 percent share days after they received their windfall.
However, the unlikelihood of coincidence has not stopped the White House and its media allies from moving the goal posts yet again to defend this, at best, highly unseemly revelation. White House spokesman Ian Sams quickly slammed the Republican distraction, arguing since “loan repayment” is written “right there on the check,” it must be true! Biden, with his usual charmless humor, attempted to deflect with a joke about how he’s “bounced a few checks.”
Jamie Comer is pretty desperate to try to distract from Republicans’ speaker mess.
It’s a loan repayment from when President Biden loaned his brother money. When he was out of office in 2018, no less. It’s right there on the check!

The media, right on cue, echoed this talking point with an air of nonchalance coupled with the utmost credulity. CNN quickly released a long-winded “fact check,” arguing that the “evidence supports” the above-board loan repayment narrative, admitting to not having all the evidence. Factcheck.org accused Comer of “cherry-picking” the facts. Mostly however, the corporate media has refrained from covering it at all.
Comer is likely to force their hand in the coming days and weeks. This is a smoking gun that is too big to ignore long-term — and Comer is just getting started. But the media will only hurt their own credibility further.
Even if there was a loan to be repaid, Joe Biden is still ultimately making cash on the back of his family’s Chinese business ventures. The loan repayment narrative, even if it’s true, still doesn’t convey the absolution the media is pretending it does.
In each instance of an epoch defining quote, the more modernizing vision won out. America’s naivete came to an end as Nixon’s dirty tricks and the moral gray zone he operated in became perhaps the single most defining feature of American politics today. Clinton’s sexual liberation rules the day; the only qualm is that he took advantage of a younger woman, not that an extramarital affair was wrong per se. Let’s hope that Americans throw the alleged “Big Guy” out next November, and that a 10 percent kickback for political elites doesn’t just become the accepted status quo of modern life.
