Erika Kirk, the 37-year-old widow of slain conservative activist Charlie Kirk, has been invited by President Donald Trump to join him as one of his special guests at Tuesday’s State of the Union (SOTU) address.

After a Daily Wire article first reported the news, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed Kirk’s attendance in a statement.

President Trump is expected to deliver a pointed condemnation of political violence during tonight’s address, explicitly calling on Congress to firmly reject political violence against our fellow citizens.

As the widow of Charlie Kirk, who was assassinated on a college campus last September, Ms. Kirk’s attendance appears to underscore what the administration has previously labeled a “revival of faith, forgiveness and belief in God” in the country since her husband’s death, while using the platform to decry rising threats and politically-motivated attacks in the current environment.

Her appearance could also blend into broader themes of law and order, public safety, and national unity — core elements of Trump’s midterm messaging — amid ongoing concerns about domestic extremism, recent violent incidents tied to immigration enforcement clashes and broader societal tensions.

Regarding the SOTU, Trump is anticipated to cover the administration’s economic wins, tariff defenses post-Supreme Court ruling, immigration crackdowns, Iran negotiations and celebrations of America’s upcoming 250th anniversary.
