Representative Al Green has once again been escorted out of the Lower Chamber.
Green (D-Texas) was removed from the lower chamber on Tuesday, after being spotted holding a sign reading “Black people are not apes” on the Democrats’ traditional side of the House chamber as the president arrived.
As he was being removed by Capitol security, Republicans were heard chanting “USA.”
Green’s sign comes in response to a video posted to President Trump’s Truth Social in February. It featured a screen recording about the 2020 election, before automatically scrolling to a brief AI-generated video depicting former President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama as apes.
The video also shows President Trump as a lion, Hillary Clinton as a warthog, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) as a meerkat, former President Joe Biden as a baboon, and former Vice President Kamala Harris as a turtle.
The White House later explained that an unidentified staffer “erroneously” posted the video.
“I looked at the beginning of it. It was fine,” Trump told reporters. “It was a very strong post in terms of voter fraud,” he went on. “Nobody knew that that was in the end. If they would have looked, they would have seen it, and probably they would have had the sense to take it down.”
Green’s ejection comes after the Texas Democrat was escorted out of the Lower Chamber by security in March 2025 during Trump’s joint address to Congress. Prior to his ejection, Green repeatedly interrupted the president by shouting and shaking his cane.
Green could repeatedly be heard yelling at the time “You have no mandate to cut Medicaid.”
