Thirteen U.S. servicemembers have died over the course of Operation Epic Fury. Seven were members of the Army while six served in the Air Force, according to the DCAS. An Iranian attack killed six American servicemembers March 1, while an Iranian strike in Saudi Arabia on March 1 injured a servicemember who later died from his wounds March 8. The War Department said six personnel died March 12 when a KC-135 Stratotanker crashed in Iraq.

President Donald Trump announced a halt on military action for two weeks April 7 on Truth Social, calling it a “double-sided ceasefire.” The president’s announcement came hours after he said a “whole civilization will die” ahead of a deadline at 8 p.m. that day.

Following the breaking down of negotiations in Pakistan, Trump ordered a blockade of Iran on April 12, later extending it and the ceasefire on April 21.
