TODAY’S PASSAGE

From “Voice Of Jesus 2” by Michael Canfield:

Emily and I had many long conversations about where we should go next. We ultimately decided on Arizona.

REFLECTION

There’s something profoundly beautiful about the phrase “many long conversations.” In our fast-paced world, we’re often pressured to make instant decisions, to know our path immediately, to have all the answers right now. But here, in this simple passage, we see a different way—a way of patience, of dialogue, of seeking direction together rather than rushing ahead alone. Emily and the narrator didn’t just flip a coin or make a hasty choice. They talked. They listened. They wrestled with possibilities until clarity emerged. This is how love works. This is how faith works. Not in the hurried moments, but in the sacred space of conversation where two hearts seek one direction.

How many of us are standing at our own crossroads right now, wondering “where should we go next?” Maybe it’s not a physical place like Arizona, but a career decision, a relationship question, a spiritual fork in the road. We can feel paralyzed by the weight of choosing, afraid of making the wrong turn. But this passage reminds us that the process of seeking is just as important as the destination. Those “many long conversations” weren’t wasted time—they were the very ground where wisdom grew. When we invite others into our decision-making, when we pray, when we sit with uncertainty rather than running from it, we create space for divine guidance to break through.

And notice they “ultimately decided.” Not immediately. Not easily. But ultimately. There’s hope in that word. It tells us that even when the path isn’t clear at first, even when we go round and round in conversation and prayer, clarity will come. The voice of love, the voice of Jesus, speaks into our confusion and brings peace. Arizona became their answer—not because it was the only option, but because through patient seeking together, it became the right one. Your Arizona is waiting too, whatever form it takes. Trust the process. Trust the conversations. Trust that love is guiding you even now.

THIS SPEAKS TO ME BECAUSE…

What decision are you wrestling with today? Who are you inviting into that conversation—whether a trusted friend, a partner, or the quiet voice of divine love in prayer? Remember that seeking direction together, patiently and prayerfully, is not a sign of weakness but of wisdom.
