‘It’s a national security threat, and this administration is not going to stand for it any longer’

Michael Waltz, President Donald Trump’s ambassador to the United Nations, is warning Americans the communist threat is still alive just 90 miles off the coast of Florida on the troubled island of Cuba.
Appearing on “Sunday Morning Futures” with Maria Bartiromo on the Fox News Channel, Ambassador Mike Waltz said there are multiple intelligence posts near U.S. military bases on the island operated by America’s top two geopolitical adversaries.
“Both Chinese and Russian,” Waltz explained. “They still have intelligence posts, signals collection posts, and military officers in Cuba right off our shores.”

“The Cuban regime is not only a threat to its own people, it’s a national security threat and this administration is not going to stand for it any longer.”
Waltz blasted “communist elites living in luxury,” as “the Castro private jet has enough fuel” to fly, but residents of the island continue to suffer extreme energy deprivation, and numerous island-wide blackout in recent days.
Regarding increasing tensions in the Strait of Hormuz as Iran has not heeded American warnings to stop attacking commercial vessels, Waltz said there will be “consequences.”
“We are not going to stand for these attacks on civilian ships,” he said. “President Trump has hit back proportionally, but at the end of the day, Iran is gonna pay the price.”

When asked about whether or not the strait is actually open, Waltz responded: “Oh, it’s open, as Central Command has said. And most targets that we’ve hit the last several nights have been directly aimed at Iran’s radar sensors, drones and missile batteries right there on the strait to eliminate and degrade their ability to attack the global economy.”
