TODAY’S PASSAGE

From “Voice Of Jesus 2” by Michael Canfield:

No. Grace is strength that does not need to dominate. Mercy that does not keep score. Because grace is not fragile. It does not retreat from darkness. It overwhelms it Grace is the first word, the sustaining word, and the word that remains when all others fall silent. You are not held together by your consistency. You are held by Grace, not permission to remain unchanged. It is the

REFLECTION

How often do we exhaust ourselves trying to prove we’re worthy? We keep mental scorecards of our successes and failures, believing that our value depends on our consistency, our performance, our ability to get it right. But this passage reminds us of a stunning truth: grace isn’t fragile. It doesn’t need us to be perfect to hold us. Grace is so powerful, so unwavering, that it doesn’t retreat when we stumble into darkness—it overwhelms that darkness completely.

Think about the relief in those words: “You are not held together by your consistency.” All those moments you felt like you were failing, all those times you couldn’t maintain the momentum, all those days when you felt like you were falling apart—grace was there, holding you together anyway. Grace isn’t permission to stay stuck or unchanged, but it is the foundation that remains solid even when everything else in our lives feels unstable. It’s the first word spoken over us, the sustaining presence through every season, and the word that will still be echoing when all our striving finally falls silent.

This is the kind of love that transforms us—not through condemnation or scorekeeping, but through relentless mercy. Grace is strength that doesn’t need to prove itself by dominating or controlling. It’s confident enough to be gentle, powerful enough to be patient. When we truly grasp this, we stop performing for approval and start living from acceptance. We stop hiding our struggles and start bringing them into the light where grace can do its overwhelming work.

THIS SPEAKS TO ME BECAUSE…

Today, where do you need to stop trying to hold yourself together through sheer willpower? What would it look like to let grace be the strength that sustains you instead—not as permission to remain unchanged, but as the secure foundation from which real transformation can finally begin?
