Newsom said federal agents have spoken to his family friends and former employees, and demanded records and documents.

The California governor accused President Donald Trump of abusing the grand jury process and claimed that the investigation was launched because he is running for president.

“[Trump] isn’t coming after me because of mean tweets, but because I am considering running for President,” Newsom said on X. “We have nothing to hide.  Mr. President, come after me. I am not going anywhere.”

Details of the alleged investigation are not immediately clear. The Epoch Times has reached out to the Justice Department for comment.
