In a memo Saturday, Booker’s’ campaign manager warned the senator will not have a legitimate path forward if he does not raise $1.7 million before the end of the third quarter.

They also claimed this isn’t an end of the quarter stunt, however reports reveal the memo was released to spark a surge in fundraising in the next ten days.

Booker declared his White House candidacy in February, and had a large staff in Iowa, new Hampshire and other early states which are expensive to maintain.
