Colombian Foreign Minister Carlos Holmes Trujillo is accusing the Maduro regime of supporting socialist insurgents in his country. While speaking at the Organization of American States Wednesday, Trujillo said leaders of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) and the National Liberation Army have ties to Maduro officials.
The minister claimed Colombian intelligence have videos to prove such connections. Trujillo also said rebel leaders and Maduro affiliates’are involved in Narco-trafficking as well as terror activities across Latin America.
“Connections between Colombian socialist rebels and Venezuela are proven at three levels: they cooperate with high-level officials of the Maduro regime, they enjoy operational support by Venezuelan state security institutions, and they have personnel ties to the pro-Maduro colectivo militias,” stated Trujillo.
The Colombian minister said the ties between the Maduro regime and Colombian rebels pose a “criminal threat” to democracy and the rule of law.
