TODAY’S PASSAGE

From “Voice Of Jesus 2” by Michael Canfield:

I drove out in a follow-me truck and arrived in time to see a group of VIPs deplane. Later I learned they were reporters. Then I saw an old friend, Sergeant Garcia from Peterson Field, step down from the aircraft. I asked if I could hitch a ride. He ducked back into the aircraft to speak with the pilot and returned with a thumbs-up. Excited, I told him I needed a few minutes to grab my duffel bag and asked if they could taxi over to flight operations in ten minutes. The pilot agreed, and I ran for my bag. It was a perfect moment. The white T-39 rolled up to flight operations, steps lowering directly in front of the building. The operations staff clearly expected VIP movement. Without hesitation, I walked up, tossed my bag onboard, and turned to see the familiar lieutenant standing behind me, his face flushed with anger.

REFLECTION

There’s something breathtaking about those moments when everything falls into place—when you’re in exactly the right spot at exactly the right time, and an unexpected door swings open before you. In this passage, we witness divine timing at work. An old friend appears. A simple request is granted. The aircraft taxis to the perfect location. Every element aligns like pieces of a cosmic puzzle, creating what the author calls “a perfect moment.” But here’s what makes this story so powerful: it required bold action. The opportunity presented itself, but someone had to ask, had to run for that duffel bag, had to walk up those steps without hesitation.

How often do we sense those divine openings in our own lives but hold back? We see the opportunity, we feel the nudge, but fear whispers its doubts. What if they say no? What if I’m not important enough? What if I don’t belong there? Yet faith calls us to move forward anyway, to trust that when God orchestrates the moment, He also provides the courage to step into it. The presence of that angry lieutenant at the end reminds us that bold faith doesn’t always receive applause from everyone watching. Sometimes the very act of claiming your God-given opportunity will upset those who think you should stay in your assigned place.

This is where love becomes our compass. When we trust in divine timing and move with faith rather than fear, we’re living out the love that Jesus modeled—a love that breaks through rigid hierarchies, that values connection over protocol, that recognizes friends in unexpected places. The author didn’t manipulate or deceive; he simply asked, acted quickly when given permission, and walked forward with confidence. That’s the walk of faith: recognizing the moment, trusting the opening, and stepping through despite who might disapprove. God’s perfect timing often looks like ordinary coincidences until we have the eyes to see His hand orchestrating every detail.

THIS SPEAKS TO ME BECAUSE…

Today, ask yourself: Where is God creating a “perfect moment” in my life right now? What opportunity is presenting itself that requires me to act boldly, to ask for what I need, to move without hesitation even if others don’t understand? Divine timing paired with faithful action can transform an ordinary day into a defining moment.
