TODAY’S PASSAGE

From “Voice Of Jesus 2” by Michael Canfield:

We purchased a new home in Prescott, situated on the lush fairways of the Prescott Country Club golf course. Rolling hills and scenic vistas surrounded us, providing a peaceful and picturesque backdrop for our growing family. The home was spacious and welcoming, with large windows that framed sweeping views of the fairways and distant mountains. It felt like a fresh beginning — a place where Justin could grow, play, and thrive.

REFLECTION

There’s something deeply sacred about fresh beginnings. In this passage, we see more than just a family moving into a new house—we witness the intentional creation of space for love to flourish. Those large windows weren’t just architectural features; they were openings to possibility, frames through which a family could see their future unfold. When we make room in our lives—whether it’s a physical space, emotional capacity, or spiritual openness—we’re preparing the ground for growth, just as this family prepared a home where Justin could thrive.

How often do we find ourselves cramped in spaces that no longer serve us? Perhaps it’s not a physical home that needs changing, but the cluttered landscape of our hearts. We hold onto old hurts, outdated beliefs, and fears that block our view of the mountains beyond. This passage reminds us that sometimes love requires us to seek out new vistas, to find that spacious and welcoming place within ourselves where our spirit can breathe freely. The peaceful backdrop isn’t just scenery—it’s the environment we cultivate through faith, where those we love can truly flourish.

Notice how the passage describes the home as both “spacious and welcoming.” These two qualities go hand in hand in our spiritual lives as well. When we create internal spaciousness through prayer, meditation, and surrender to divine love, we naturally become more welcoming—to others, to new experiences, to the voice of Jesus speaking peace into our daily lives. The rolling hills and scenic vistas are there for all of us, waiting just beyond the windows of our current perspective. All we need is the faith to seek them out and the courage to step into our own fresh beginning.

THIS SPEAKS TO ME BECAUSE…

Today, I’m invited to consider: What fresh beginning am I being called toward? Where in my life do I need to create more spacious, welcoming room for love to grow? What windows do I need to open to see the beautiful vistas that faith has prepared for me?
