Pompeo: ‘More than embarrassing on the world stage’

Kamala Harris, America’s vice president who was labeled “epically unpopular and useless” by a prominent British columnist, is being mocked online for using a fake French accent while talking to French scientists.

She was dispatched to France by President Biden, apparently to try to repair the damage done when the Biden administration secretly reached an agreement with Australia to sell it nuclear submarines, and the Aussies immediately canceled a multi-billion dollar deal with France.

On her visit she stopped at the Institut Pasteur science lab, where work is going on regarding COVID-19.

She talked about “The Plan” while there.

She said, “In government, we campaign with ‘The Plan.’ Uppercase T, uppercase P, The Plan! And then the environment is such we’re expected to defend ‘The Plan’ even when the first time we roll it out there may be some glitches and it’s time to reevaluate and then do it again.”

The Daily Mail pointed out that Mike Pompeo, Donald Trump’s secretary of state, charged that Harris was humiliating the U.S.

“The clip from Vice President Harris is more than embarrassing on the world stage,” he said. “Our adversaries watch that and see weakness. They see people who aren’t serious, they see people who aren’t determined – precisely the opposite of what we did for four years.”

The report said, “Republican researcher Jake Schneider tweeted the clip, saying: ‘Kamala ‘Cringe’ Harris visits a group of French scientists and speaks to them as if they’re toddlers, lamenting that people expect their elected officials to keep their promises.”

And Abigail Marone, the press aide for Sen. Josh Hawley, R-Mo., said, “Is she using a FRENCH ACCENT?! I love this episode of Veep.”

Becket Adams, a Washington Examiner commentator, noted of the performance by Harris, whose approval ratings have dropped like a rock into the 20s, “I thought we cancelled pepe lepew.”

The French ambassador to the U.S. was withdrawn in September after Biden struck its secret deal with Australia – and, as reports documented, “blindsiding” France, which had a deal already.

Harris’ visit is seen as an attempt to rebuild a relationship with the French government.

She’s also trying to rebuild her own brand, after a poll showed her earning the approval of not even 28% of Americans. Fifty-one percent said they disapproved of her.

She, of course, is weighed down at least partly by the sub-par 38% approval rating for her boss, Joe Biden.

The Daily Mail reported, “At this early stage of a modern presidency, Harris’ numbers in the USA Today/Suffolk poll are unprecedented. The closest comparison — which involves slightly different methodology and margins of error — would be former Vice President Dick Cheney, the most unpopular U.S. vice president in polling history. He bottomed out at 30 per cent in Gallup’s tracking survey…”

Harris’ previously created an embarrassment when she promoted, with a video, a “Space Week” event, but instead of using children for her conversation about the issue, used “paid child actors.”

They were presented to viewers as “normal kids.”

Also, assigned by the president to handle the crisis Biden created at the southern border by trashing the entirety of President Trump’s programs that had succeeded in reducing illegal alien arrivals, she waited months before going to the scene, and when she did, only stopped in a city that actually was far from the border.
