Joe Biden announced all adult Americans will become eligible for a COVID-19 vaccination on April 19.

During a press appearance on Tuesday, Biden said he is updating his self-imposed deadline of May 1. He claimed supply of vaccines has grown and more doses are on the way across the nation.

The new deadline is two weeks ahead of Biden’s previous deadline.

White House press secretary Jen Psaki spoke to reporters on Tuesday about the vaccine availability.

“We’ve reached 150 million shots in arms since entering government and that by April 19, all adult Americans will be eligible to get the vaccine,” Psaki stated. “That doesn’t mean they will get it that day. It means they can join the line that day if they have not already done that beforehand.”

Psaki went on to clarify this doesn’t mean everyone will receive a vaccine, just that everyone will then be eligible to schedule one starting on April 19.
