A restaurant featuring a robotic burger-maker, Creator, is slated to open in San Francisco this September, promising to revolutionize the culinary arts and make food preparation a healthier endeavor, as NPR reported.

Alex Vardakostas, 33, founded a culinary robotics firm after a 4 a.m. revelation gave him the idea to use robotics to prepare food, and potentially aid the health safety for those who have had to breathe in fumes.

“A lot of people don’t talk about this or realize it, but it is incredibly unhealthy — inhaling grease-laden vapors and soot all day,” Vardakostas told NPR. “So, this was a really exciting idea for me, where I could just have this beautiful instrument and I could take control of it.”

Vardakostas’ Creator burger robot is the result of a collaboration with Steve Frehn, 32, Creator’s co-founder and COO.

“The nice thing about using a machine is that it’s very precise, so if someone has a sodium limit, or something like that, we can track that sort of thing and provide a little customization,” Frehn told NPR.

Despite the research and development and the expense of top-dollar market like San Francisco, the Creator burgers are going to be priced at just $6.

“We want everyone to be able to partake,” Vardakostas told NPR.
