The pediatrician, Dr. Renata Moon, testified in December 2022 in Washington at an event put on by Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis). She said she saw a jump in cases of heart inflammation after the COVID-19 vaccines were released, noted that COVID-19 poses little risk to children, and highlighted how the insert for the vaccines is blank.

Washington State University, one of Dr. Moon’s employers, said her testimony may have breached ethics law and spread misinformation. It effectively terminated her.

The school also flagged Dr. Moon’s testimony with the Washington Medical Commission (WMC), which licenses doctors in Washington state, according to documents reviewed by The Epoch Times.

Dr. Moon “engaged in activities that could be perceived as possible spread of misinformation” at the Washington event, Dr. Jeff Haney, chair of the university’s Department of Medical Education and Clinical Sciences, told the commission.

Dr. Moon’s testimony about heart inflammation and children having “essentially a zero percent risk of harm” from COVID-19 was “potential misinformation,” Dr. Haney claimed.

The WMC looked into the allegations, and a panel of commissioners authorized an investigation because Dr. Moon may have acted unprofessionally.

“Please be advised this is a preliminary investigation only, and no charges have been issued,” Mr. Calica said.

Dr. Moon retained lawyers with the Silent Majority Foundation to formally respond to the questions. The lawyers said the probe “is frivolous and based on unsound policy” because it is based on a letter that contained no allegations regarding Dr. Moon’s practice of medicine.

They threatened to sue any commissioners and staff members involved in opening the investigation for violations of a federal law that enables people to sue state government workers for acting “under color of state law” when violating civil rights.

The WMC has not responded to requests for comment.

Dr. Moon, who chose not to renew her license in Washington state in 2023 due to concerns about being investigated but has active licenses in other states, said she’s being persecuted by a weaponized agency.

U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention data presented at the hearing, for instance, showed that just 0.01 percent of infections among children and 0.05 percent of infections among adults aged 18 to 29 led to death.

“When you have such low or nonexistent mortality in these low age groups, the potential severe adverse effects of the vaccine will surmount the nonexistent mortality of these age groups,” Dr. Harvey Risch, a professor emeritus of epidemiology at the Yale School of Public Health, said during the 2022 hearing.

Some other questions dealt with Dr. Moon’s experience. The WMC asked for evidence on her statement that she has seen, or has direct knowledge of, more patients with myocarditis after vaccination when compared to before the pandemic.

  Dr. Moon said in her formal response that the WMC “may conduct its own research on this issue and cannot hold me accountable for its lack of information or expertise.” She also cited studies such as one showing how few children have died with COVID-19. She declined to answer some questions, asserting they had “nothing to do with the practice of medicine.”

“Initiating this investigation appears intended to intimidate and harass a physician acting in support of her Hippocratic Oath to ‘do no harm’ and her obligation to speak about valid safety concerns,” Dr. Moon told the WMC.

She said that she raised concerns due to concerning safety data for the Pfizer and Moderna modified messenger RNA (mRNA) COVID-19 vaccines, particularly in light of how children were pushed to receive the vaccines even though they face little risk from COVID-19.

“I spoke to my government in Washington, D.C., about my legitimate concerns regarding the administration of these COVID-19 mRNA genetic shots to our nation’s children,” Dr. Moon said. “This WMC investigation of my free speech is a direct violation of my civil liberties and Constitutional rights.”
