Washington, D.C. — Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) called Sen. Chuck Schumer’s (D-NY) open-border policies insane in a recent interview.
Paul was asked during an interview with Newsmax about Schumer calling on President Joe Biden to end Title 42 expulsions from the United States and open the borders to everyone.
Paul responded, “That’s insanity.”
“Having an open border — there’s polling that shows that over 700 million people would come tomorrow,” Paul continued. “The chaos of an open border, we’re seeing a little of that now, or a lot of that, with 10,000 Haitians underneath a bridge wanting to come in.”
Paul further reiterated that he even supports increasing legal immigration but that there should be zero tolerance for illegal immigration.
“Already, tens of thousands of people are coming because they perceive the Biden administration to be weak on the border,” Paul said.
Paul then brought up the point that 1.3 million illegal immigrants have been apprehended this year, but the government does not know where they are at.
