Several anonymous sources have praised the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) for axing its diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) programs, according to a recent report.

One such anonymous source said that before FBI Director Kash Patel assumed his position, there was an “over-emphasis” on DEI in the agency, “to the exclusion of actual work,” according to the report from a national alliance of active-duty and retired FBI special agents and analysts, which is set to be handed over to the House and Senate Judiciary Committees this week. The report, cited by the New York Post on Sunday, comes as the Trump administration has been cracking down on DEI-related efforts across corporate America as well as various federal agencies.

Additionally, another anonymous source cited in the report said that “younger FBI employees enjoyed programs focused on DEI because those programs took their time away from doing actual work,” while “the more senior [FBI] employees stayed silent for fear of being labeled a ‘racist’ when it came to commenting on the focus placed on DEI.” The same source claimed that the FBI eliminating DEI-related programs and training has helped to lessen the “administrative burden” placed on employees at the agency, the report states.

The FBI did not respond to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s request for comment.

A third anonymous source asserted that “FBI Special Agents and other FBI personnel spend too much time on administrative work, but .. [the source] did note the administrative burden has improved since the removal of time required to spend on DEI,” per the report.

Moreover, a separate anonymous source cited in the report said that the core “mission” at the FBI is “refocusing on ‘Do your f’ing job’ rather than on non-mission essential or counter-productive tasks, or sensitivity training,” which the same source claimed was “insulting to the majority of [FBI] employees who do not need to be told how to communicate.”

There have been various reports that the Biden administration led a massive push to embed DEI initiatives across a variety of federal agencies.

The FBI announced in January that it had closed its DEI office in December 2024, Fox News first reported. President Donald Trump wrote in a Jan. 20 executive order aiming to axe “radical and wasteful” DEI programs across the federal government that Americans “deserve a government committed to serving every person with equal dignity and respect, and to expending precious taxpayer resources only on making America great.”
