Iran’s parliamentary speaker has reportedly stepped down from peace negotiations.

Multiple sources have reported that Mohammed Bagher Ghalibaf resigned from his position as lead negotiator on Thursday. Some reports have revealed that he was forcefully ousted by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

They allege possible infighting following Ghalibaf’s recent participation in peace talks in Pakistan opposite Vice President JD Vance and the White House envoy team.

Iranian state media outlets have denied the reports.
