Too many accidents will get your car insurance canceled.

So can too many tickets.

Reckless also will hit you hard.

And will any sort of fraud.

And “Jesus.”

A report at CBN reveals a driver was denied car insurance for his car, being driven in Birmingham, England, because of a homemade “Jesus loves you” message.

The report said Simeon Chandra, 35, is thinking about a legal fight with the insurance company that cut him off.

Christian Concern explains Chandra asked the company, GoSkippy Insurance, about putting the message on the car and was told it was allowed if he sent photos to provide documentation for his file.

After the image arrived, the company refused to continue his insurance.

“For the policy to continue and be insured, we require the stickers to be removed from the vehicle and send a dated photograph once the stickers have been removed,” the company ordered.

As the message was not abusive, political, hateful or commercial, Chanda was surprised.

Actually, shocked.

“I was shocked, surprised and upset when they told me I had to take the stickers off,” Chandra said in an interview with the Christian Legal Centre. “I had tried to do the right thing by telling the insurer about the stickers and sending photographs. The message on my car is very simple: ‘Jesus Loves You.’ … It is a message of hope.”

He openly wondered why “when a Christian puts a peaceful message on his own car, suddenly it appears to become a problem.”

The report said GoSkippy ultimately did not respond so he is working with the Legal Centre to address his concerns.

Chief Executive Andrew Williams said the fight is about freedom of religion along with the freedom to express it, and the insurer’s behavior should sound the alarm for all who care to protect it.

“It is about whether ordinary Christians are free to express their faith in public without being excluded from essential services,’ Williams said.
