TODAY’S PASSAGE

From “Voice Of Jesus 2” by Michael Canfield:

“My Spirit shall not abide in man forever, for he is flesh: his days shall be 120 years.”

REFLECTION

There’s something profoundly humbling about being reminded that our time here is finite. We rush through our days, often living as though we have endless tomorrows stretching before us. But this passage brings us face to face with a beautiful truth: our limitation is not a curse—it’s a gift. God’s Spirit moves through us in this brief window of flesh and bone, and every single day becomes sacred when we recognize its temporary nature. The boundary of our years isn’t meant to discourage us; it’s meant to awaken us to the preciousness of now.

When we understand that our days are numbered, everything shifts. That argument we’ve been holding onto suddenly seems less important. The dream we’ve been postponing demands our attention. The person we’ve been meaning to forgive becomes our priority. Our flesh is temporary, yes, but while God’s Spirit dwells within us, we have the capacity to love impossibly, forgive completely, and live courageously. We aren’t meant to waste our limited days on bitterness, fear, or smallness of heart. We’re meant to burn brightly with divine love while we’re here.

This is the paradox of our human experience: we are both limited and infinite. Our bodies will age and fade, but the love we give, the kindness we show, the faith we nurture—these ripple into eternity. Every moment you choose love over fear, peace over anxiety, connection over isolation, you’re allowing God’s Spirit to work through your temporary vessel in ways that transcend time itself. Your 120 years, or whatever number is appointed to you, become a canvas for the eternal when you live them with intentional love.

THIS SPEAKS TO ME BECAUSE…

Today, I’m invited to ask myself: Am I living as though I have forever, or am I embracing the sacred urgency of my limited days? What would change in my life if I truly believed that God’s Spirit is moving through me right now, in this very moment, calling me to love more deeply and live more fully?
