TODAY’S PASSAGE
From “Voice Of Jesus 2” by Michael Canfield:
My parents were very happy that I returned but they did not acknowledge my visit to heaven, why? Your parents responded according to the understanding of their time and the teachings of their churches. They comforted you with love and explained the experience as a dream. That whole experience was chosen to gently guide you in turning inward with faith in the unseen. One day it would be remembered — selectively — and one day recorded, as you are doing now.
REFLECTION
Have you ever had a profound spiritual experience that others dismissed or couldn’t understand? Perhaps you felt the presence of a departed loved one, received an answer to prayer in an unexpected way, or experienced a moment of divine clarity that changed everything—only to have someone you trust explain it away as coincidence, imagination, or wishful thinking. This passage reminds us that even those who love us most may not always be able to receive or validate our sacred encounters. And that’s okay. Their limitations don’t diminish the truth of what we’ve experienced.
What’s beautiful here is the gentle wisdom in understanding why others respond the way they do. The parents in this passage weren’t rejecting their child—they were responding “according to the understanding of their time and the teachings of their churches.” They gave what they could: comfort and love. Sometimes the people around us are doing their best with the spiritual framework they’ve been given. Their inability to affirm our experience doesn’t mean we were wrong or that what happened wasn’t real. It means we’re being called to something deeper: to turn inward with faith in the unseen, to trust our own divine encounters even when external validation isn’t there.
This passage also speaks to the sacred timing of our spiritual journey. Some experiences aren’t meant to be fully understood in the moment. They’re seeds planted in our souls, waiting for the right season to bloom into understanding. What seems dismissed or forgotten today may be the very thing that transforms your life years from now. Your spiritual experiences—even the ones others don’t acknowledge—are being carefully woven into the tapestry of your purpose. Trust the process. Trust what you’ve experienced. And know that one day, when the time is right, it will all make beautiful sense.
THIS SPEAKS TO ME BECAUSE…
Today, I’m invited to honor my own spiritual experiences, even when others don’t understand them. I’m reminded that turning inward with faith in the unseen is not a sign of weakness, but a courageous act of trust. What divine encounter am I being called to remember and honor today?
