TODAY’S PASSAGE

From “Voice Of Jesus 2” by Michael Canfield:

“You will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not alarmed, for this must take place, but the end is not yet.” Lord Jesus… after all we’ve spoken about — fear and listening, truth and endurance, grace When the questions quiet, when the striving fades, what is it you want us to hold onto? From early childhood, Michael experienced what he came to understand as inward communication with angels and with Jesus Christ. These encounters did not unfold in spectacle, but in quiet dialogue—often during moments of solitude, prayer, and reflection. Over time, this lifelong conversation shaped the direction of his life and became the foundation for the Peace Speaks series.

REFLECTION

We live in a world that seems perpetually on edge. Every news cycle brings fresh anxiety—wars, conflicts, uncertainties that shake our sense of security. It’s so easy to become consumed by the noise, to let fear dictate our inner landscape. Yet in this passage, Jesus offers us something radically different: the invitation not to be alarmed. Not because the troubles aren’t real, but because there’s something deeper, something more enduring we’re meant to hold onto when everything else feels like it’s falling apart.

What strikes me most is Michael’s question: “When the questions quiet, when the striving fades, what is it you want us to hold onto?” This is the question that cuts through all our frantic searching. We spend so much energy trying to figure everything out, to control outcomes, to make sense of chaos. But there comes a moment—in the stillness of prayer, in the quiet of our hearts—when we realize that the answer isn’t found in having all the answers. It’s found in relationship. In listening. In the gentle, persistent voice of Love that has been speaking to us all along, not in spectacle, but in quiet dialogue.

Michael’s experience reminds us that divine communication doesn’t always come with thunder and lightning. Sometimes it comes in solitude, in the ordinary moments when we finally stop long enough to listen. This is where real transformation happens—not in the dramatic interventions we sometimes wish for, but in the faithful, daily practice of tuning our hearts to hear the voice of Peace. When wars rage and rumors swirl, we have a choice: to be swept up in alarm, or to anchor ourselves in the One who speaks peace into our storms.

THIS SPEAKS TO ME BECAUSE…

In your own life today, what are the “wars and rumors of wars” that threaten your peace? What would it mean for you to quiet the questions and the striving, even just for a moment, and listen for what Love is asking you to hold onto? Perhaps the peace you’re seeking isn’t found in having everything resolved, but in knowing you’re held by Someone who speaks to you in the quiet.
