TODAY’S PASSAGE
From “Voice Of Jesus 2” by Michael Canfield:
Think of it as an inner compass. When you move toward Love, you feel its confirmation within you as peace and happiness. When you move away from Love, that confirmation quiets — not as punishment, but as guidance — gently inviting you to return. This understanding helped you learn to listen inwardly and to follow Love, even before you had words for it. This understanding helped you learn to listen inwardly and to follow Love, even before you had words for it. Eventually, our family settled into a quaint house in San Mateo that my parents purchased. It was a modest place, but to me it felt full of promise. The house was within walking distance of the San Francisco Bay. I grew up near the water and loved fishing and wandering along its shores. Those open spaces became a kind of refuge for me — places where time slowed and imagination had room to roam.
REFLECTION
Have you ever noticed that feeling inside when something just feels right? Or conversely, that subtle unease when you’re moving in a direction that doesn’t align with your deepest values? This passage beautifully describes what so many of us experience but struggle to name: an inner compass that guides us toward Love. It’s not loud or demanding. It doesn’t shame us when we stray. Instead, it quietly withdraws its peace, like a loving parent gently redirecting a child, inviting us back to the path of Love with patience and grace.
What strikes me most is the reminder that this guidance isn’t punishment—it’s invitation. How often do we interpret that quiet discomfort as condemnation rather than compassion? When we make choices that pull us away from love—whether through fear, anger, selfishness, or simply distraction—we don’t lose God’s love. We lose our sense of it. The peace dims not because we’ve been abandoned, but because we’ve wandered from our true home. And all the while, Love waits patiently, ready to flood back in the moment we turn around.
The image of those open spaces by the bay—places where time slowed and imagination could roam—speaks to our deep need for refuge and reflection. In our hurried, noisy world, we desperately need those moments of stillness where we can hear that inner compass again. Whether it’s a walk in nature, a quiet morning with coffee, or simply closing your eyes and breathing deeply, these are the spaces where Love’s voice becomes clear again. These are the places where we remember who we really are and whose we are.
THIS SPEAKS TO ME BECAUSE…
Today, I invite you to pause and ask yourself: Where do I feel that inner peace right now? Where has it grown quiet? What is Love gently inviting me back toward? Your inner compass is always there, always faithful, always pointing you home.
