A driver wearing a camouflage hat, sunglasses, gloves and a ski mask was detained by authorities outside Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton’s primary election watch party for failing to properly display a license plate. Upon searching his car, officers discovered multiple types of ammunition.
On Tuesday evening, officers in Dallas arrested the man outside the Marriott Dallas Uptown after he was seen driving a blue Chrysler with an improperly displayed license plate
“On March 3, 2026, at approximately 5:16 p.m., officers were notified of a suspicious individual in the 3000 block of Fairmount Street,” an emailed statement to Newsweek read. “The individual entered a vehicle that did not display a proper license plate and left the area.”
Once officers inspected the vehicle, they discovered dozens of ammo cartridges or boxes of ammunition for several different types of firearms inside.
“Officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle,” the statement from the Dallas Police Department continued. “The driver was arrested for traffic violations. During an inventory search of the vehicle, officers located ammunition.”
The suspect was taken to Jack Evans Police Headquarters for further investigation.
