UPDATE – 8:12 AM – Wednesday, February 11, 2026

A man was released from custody shortly after he was detained for questioning in the search for “Today” show anchor Savannah Guthrie’s mother, Nancy Guthrie, who has been missing for over 10 days.

Carlos Palazuelos became a person of interest after his home was searched under warrant in Rio Rico. He confirmed to reporters on Wednesday morning that his house was searched and that Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agents told him he resembled the person that appeared in the security camera footage from Guthrie’s house released by the FBI on Tuesday

“I hope they get the suspect, because I’m not it,” Palazuelos said.

He said that he was a delivery driver, but that he didn’t remember if he delivered anything to Guthrie’s house.

The individual in the newly-released footage appeared to be masked and armed. He also covered the camera with a gloved hand and what seemed to be part of a plant.

Pima County Sheriff’s Department confirmed that the search at the man’s property had been completed and that the investigation was ongoing.
