‘By doing so, the president shared the Gospel message with our entire nation …’

President Donald Trump has posted on social media during this time so holy for Christians, Good Friday and Resurrection Sunday, the plain Gospel message.
That is that, “The only way to Heaven is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ.”
The posting:
The words actually are from a letter from Franklin Graham, a friend of the president and the head of the Samaritan’s Purse international Christian ministry, to Trump
It’s explained by Gary Bauer, who worked in the Reagan administration and then became head of the Family Research Council.
Online, he wrote, “Over the years, one of the most frequent questions posed to me by Christians is whether I think President Trump has accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. I have been honored to pray with the president many times, and I have reached my own conclusion.
“Most Christians already believe that the president has done more to protect faith, family, and freedom than any previous president. His Supreme Court appointees ended the lie that there was a right to abortion in our Constitution. He has sided consistently with parents’ rights to protect their children from LGBTQ propaganda. The list goes on and on. But many Christians still want to know about Donald Trump’s personal faith.
“This question rose to prominence again in October 2025. President Trump, while flying on Air Force One, held an impromptu ‘press conference’ with reporters on the plane.”
Bauer explained that was when Trump had brokered a ceasefire in Hamas’ war against Israel.
“President Trump replied, in part, ‘I think I’m not maybe Heaven-bound . . . I’m not sure I’m going to be able to make it to Heaven, but I’ve made life a lot better for a lot of people.'”
Bauer noted that raised eyebrows as Christians worried the president didn’t know “that the way to get into Heaven is not by works, but by accepting Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior.”
Three days later, Graham wrote to Trump:
Dear President Trump,
Congratulations! The cease-fire between Israel and Hamas and the hostages being returned home are incredible accomplishments. Your leadership is historic. This is an answer to much prayer. Jesus said, “Blessed are the peacemakers” (Matthew 5:9)—and Mr. President, that is what you are.
This week you commented to the media that you might not be heaven bound. Maybe you responded in jest, but it is an important issue to know for certain that your soul is secure and will spend eternity in the presence of God.
The only One who can save us from Hell is Jesus Christ. You can’t save yourself; I can’t save myself. Good works, prominence, success—none of these get us to Heaven. The only way to Heaven is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ.
God requires us to turn from our sins and, by faith, believe in our heart that Jesus came to earth, died on the cross for our sins, was buried, and God raised Him to life on the third day. If you accept that by faith and invite Him to come into your heart, you ARE heaven bound, I promise you.
The Bible says, “if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved” (Romans 10:9).
You continue to be in our prayers.
As always, your friend,
Franklin Graham
That letter was what Trump posted online heading into the Easter holiday.
Bauer noted, “By doing so, the president shared the Gospel message with our entire nation … President Trump has done more to advance the Gospel and to protect religious liberty than any other president in our history. And, yes, I believe he has accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, and he is, in fact, Heaven-bound.”
